Cook - Daytime only, and no split shifts!

PAY BETWEEN £11.75 – £12.00ph. 5 days per week – Tuesday to Saturday.

We are looking for a friendly and versatile cook to work with our fast-paced Food and Beverage team, working with modern facilities helping to serve a range of delicious but basic food products.

You will be working as part of a team delivering an enjoyable menu of consistently high quality hot and cold food in our Engine Shed Café.

This is a perfect position for home cooks, a cook with limited experience, or people who are looking to get back into the world of cooking after a career break.

The best part is you never have to work evenings and nights beyond 5.30pm – and NO split shifts!

Please note that this is a full-time seasonal position, with an immediate start through until the end of October. However, there is the opportunity for this to become full-time for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team to prepare, cook and present a variety of dishes from our menu and seasonal specials board.
  • Working in all areas of the kitchen.
  • Play your part in maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • Adhere to company and legislative food safety policies and safe systems of work.
  • Ensure stock rotation in fridges, freezers to minimise wastage.

Person Requirements – essential

  • You will be an excellent communicator.
  • You have a can-do, positive approach towards work.
  • You are an excellent team player.
  • Due to our location, you will need to have your own transport.

Person Requirements – desirable

  • Previous experience working in a tourist attraction food and beverage department – however, this is not essential.
  • Holder of a Food Safety and Hygiene Level 2 certificate. If you do not hold one, we will put you through the course for the qualification.

Seasonal Miniature Train driver and boating lake assistant.

THIS POST IS FOR 3 DAYS PER WEEK – FRIDAY, SUNDAY & MONDAY.

We are looking for fun, outgoing and motivated individuals to work in our leisure park, helping to give our visitors the best day out! We have a part time 3 day per week seasonal position available from now until the end of October. Further opportunities after the season time may be available to the right person.

We pride ourselves in welcoming over 100,000 visitors to the Lappa Valley every single year and your job will be to make sure they leave with a smile!

If you are interested in a varied and exciting season, with customer satisfaction at the forefront of your mind, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be trained to drive the two miniature railways in the leisure park at East Wheal Rose (Woodland Railway and Newlyn Downs branch-line)
  • To assist visitors on and off the boating lake pedalo swans.
  • To be trained in safety critical duties of the main railway, such as dispatching trains.
  • To ensure a high level of cleanliness throughout the park and its attractions, including litter picking, changing the bins etc.
  • To deliver outstanding customer service and ensure that our visitors always leave with a smile on their face!

Person Requirements – essential

  • You will be an excellent communicator.
  • You are confident and outgoing.
  • Be over the age of 18.
  • You have a can-do, positive approach towards work.
  • You are very customer focussed, with our aim of being the best day out, firmly in mind.
  • Due to the location of Lappa Valley, you will need your own transport.

Person Requirements – desirable

  • Previous experience working for a tourist attraction.
